While the people of Lewisburg First United Methodist Church channel the grace of God to
each other, we also offer care to people in our community who are hurting and who are
in need! In the view of the pastor, “Blessed would be any church (per capita) that
could match the generosity and heart for outreach that this congregation possesses!”

Care Kitchen 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month at 5:45 p.m. McKnight Hall
The Marshall County Care Kitchen is a partnership of about 12 different churches that rotate in
providing hot food to those who come to the beautiful setting of McKnight Hall in our McKnight
Ministry Center. Our guests from the community enjoy food, hot and cold beverages and fellowship
at round tables. The Care Kitchen is about more than just the food. Varying churches who participate
in the ministry offer live music, devotionals and prayer time. Guests leave with care packages.
We presently have six people from our congregation that coordinate and help the rotating churches
in the week by week administration of the ministry.

Mary Farley Care Center 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month – 9:00 a.m. White Center
One way the generosity and compassion of the people of Lewisburg First United Methodist Church
is channeled to people in need is through the Mary Farley Care Center. People from the Lewisburg
area come to the White Center to request help primarily with utility bills, rent and food.People are
interviewed and helped financially to aid them in their challenges.

Angel Tree In December we partner with our local school system to discreetly identify
people in need and then provide very nice Christmas gifts to many young children.

We also give support to local agencies including Pregnancy Resource Center and Junior’s House.

Lewisburg First United Methodist Church also helps people in our community by offering three high
quality Weekday Programs for Preschoolers and Toddlers. We also offer After School and Summer
Activities for children from 3 to 11 years of age. Methodist Day Care and Rainbow Kids/Parents’ Day
Out have distinguished reputations for exceptional care and school readinesstraining of children.
Please refer to Weekday Preschool Programs page.

Ministries Beyond Our Community
Lewisburg First United Methodist Church supports global missions through our giving to our
denomination’s worldwide ministry initiatives, through gifts to the United Methodist Committee
on Relief, through our direct support of missionaries in other countries like Paraguay, and
through specific projects like ‘Imagine No Malaria’ and ‘Operation Christmas Child’.

We finance short term missions trips by our youth and adult leaders in the early summers to
residents in the Cumberland Mountains of Tennessee – Mt. TOP – (Tennessee Outreach Project)

Lewisburg First United Methodist Women have as their purpose the expanding of missions
through participation in the global ministries of the church. Please refer to United Methodist
